At its core, the story of Sakamoto Days features some incredible action set pieces that are important to the overall story of the series. When translating this to an anime, it’s important to make the moments of action throughout Sakamoto Days as great as they were in the manga, if not better. To make these scenes stand out, fluid, impactful, and high-quality animation is a must. Anything less than that is sure to disappoint fans.

In the end, while Sakamoto Days’ animation falls short of what fans expected, it isn’t anywhere close to being the worst thing ever. Compared to modern anime, Sakamoto Days is probably a step above Blue Lock Season 2, yet a step behind Dandadan. Hopefully, later in Season 1 of Sakamoto Days, the animation of the series will improve, alleviating the worries of fans that the anime may be subpar overall.
